Sukhiapokhri (Sukhia Pokhari)
Highlights
Overview
Sukhiapokhri, literally meaning "Happy Pond", is a mist-covered town situated at an altitude of 7,198 feet along the ridgeline of the Balasan and Rangeet river valleys. Located just 17 km from Darjeeling, it serves as a critical junction on the Ghoom-Mirik road. While often shrouded in a "veil of fog", clear days offer spectacular golden views of the Kanchenjunga range. It is best known as the gateway to Manebhanjan, the starting point for the world-famous Sandakphu trek.
