Mirik (Sumendu Lake & Surroundings)
Highlights
Overview
Mirik is a serene hill station located at an altitude of 4,905 feet (1,495 m), famous for its picturesque Sumendu Lake. The town is nestled in the Eastern Himalayas, surrounded by a lush forest of Oak, Chestnut, and Maple trees on one side and manicured tea gardens on the other. The 1.25 km long lake is the heart of Mirik, featuring an 80-foot long arch bridge called Indreni Bridge that connects the forest trails to the garden area. Mirik is also the region's largest producer of oranges and is a popular transit stop for travellers moving between Siliguri and Darjeeling.
