Maa Annapurna Devi Temple
Highlights
Overview
Maa Annapurna Devi Mandir is a historic Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Annapurna, the deity of food and nourishment. Constructed in 1729 AD by Maratha Peshwa Baji Rao I, it is situated in the sacred Vishwanath Gali, just adjacent to the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple. The temple features Nagara-style architecture and houses two idols of the Goddess: a brass one available for daily darshan and a golden one revealed only once a year during the Annakoot festival. It is believed that a visit here ensures one never faces starvation
